2 pie crusts 1 c brown sugar 1 c light Karo or maple syrup 2 T flour 1 beaten egg 2 c water 2 t vanilla Combine in saucepan and boil until thickened. Mix together: 2 c flour
1 t soda 1 t baking powder 1 c brown sugar 1/2 c shortening Put liquid in bottom of pie crust and crumbs on top. Bake in moderate oven. Makes 2 pies. |
