1 qt beans 4 slices of bacon 1 1/2 c boiling water 1 t salt Wash the beans, cut off the stems and snap the beans into one-inch lengths. Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces and fry them in the
bottom of a saucepan till the bits are crisp. Remove the bacon bits, add boiling water to the bacon fat in the saucepan, put in the beans and cook until they are just tender. Pour off the water and serve the beans with
the bacon as garnish. |
