2 c diced, raw potatoes 1 small onion or leek 4 c water 1/2 T salt 1/2 c bread cubes 2 T butter 2 T cream Pinch of pepper Cook potatoes and onion in slated water until tender,
force through sieve and return to fire. Brown bread cubes in butter and pour into boiling soup. Remove from fire, add cream and pepper and serve. |
